Who Are Your Biggest Supporters? Identify, and Start With Them.

One of the best strategies for marketing is the “influencer strategy.” Here, your job is to identify who among your customers are active influencers to others, partner, and work with them to grow your brand and capture a bigger market.

That said, employing this strategy can be overwhelming for you if you have never done it before. In this article, we have listed four tips to help you get started:

1. Find Your True Audience

By knowing your audience, you can direct all attention and efforts to the right group of people. First, find out their interests and problems. Then, look for those in the community who drive other customers to take action, also known as “influencers.” Once this is accomplished, contact them and ask them to work with you. Typically, in a business-influencer relationship, you are tasked with providing the content and the influencer is tasked with communicating it to their audience.

Assuming you’re a reputable brand with a good product, most influencers would be more than happy to work with you, as they want to be the first among the audience to get their hands on what you sell. Their followers, in turn, can benefit from learning more about a product that is related to their interests.

2. Be Innovative

No one wants to work with a stale brand that does nothing in terms of getting their audience to engage with them. You should always be looking for ways to engage your customers with activities such as live events. Make sure that whenever you do hold these events, integrate a social media aspect to it. In other words, get your influencers to share what you’re doing. That way, not only will you engage even more customers to work with you, but to reach a wider audience as well.

3. Learn What Your Audience Values

It won’t matter how well you advertise your product or how hard your influencers work to share your offers if you do not offer anything valuable to the audience. Find out your customers’ interests. What do they like to talk about? What kind of questions do they have? With the answers to these questions, you can create a content strategy that is relevant to your audience.

4. Learn How Your Audience Engages With You

Allowing your customers to engage with you in their preferred medium is more important than you engaging with them. For example, if your audience is based on Twitter, you wouldn’t make posts on Facebook or Instagram as that would be a waste of time, money, and effort. No one will see your post, and the ones that will most likely aren’t your audience and won’t care.

That said, determine which platforms your audience usually interacts with your brand. It can be through videos on YouTube or posts on Instagram. In other words, find where your audiences are and present them with the information they will find interesting.

Utilize influencers to help spread brand awareness and build brand loyalty among your customers. However, this doesn’t mean that you must rely on them alone. Do your research, find out where your customers are, and consider their interests. With this knowledge, you will be able to construct a strategy to help in your marketing efforts.
